The Longest day of the Year and the first day of Summer
Summer is here! The longest day of the year was full of sunshine and blue skies.
So what's new with the Scott family? Here is a quick rundown...
WOW. The kids are now officially out of school! The school year went so quickly. I live within four miles of five schools so at about noon today (it was early release) the entire area became a hooting, hollering, horn honking, screaming, laughing moment of joy. The sounds of children squealing went on for at least ten minutes and I think every parent in town honked their horn for a full five minutes. It was crazy. I sat on my back deck and just laughed and shook my head....
Baseball is over!!!!! (Oh goodness, did I say that with a bit too much enthusiasm?) T got a trophy (the ENTIRE reason for playing) and proudly dusts it every day. B's team came in third during tournaments AND he got to pitch during the last game so it ended on a high note. His tournament pin and trophy are so absolutely cool its unbelievable. Now we have a month and a half break before B starts football. (I know, I caved.) I am terrified that he will get stomped but unfortunately it seems that I am being unreasonable and overprotective and I need (so I have been told) to allow him wings to grow, or the opportunity to get squashed it seems. More to follow on that later... I will post some pictures of the season later this week.
I am in the middle of redoing the upstairs bathroom. With my RA it has been an agonizingly slow process BUT I am doing it!!!!! (: I have learned to appreciate my limitations and accept that nothing will get done as quickly as I want it too. So far I have installed a new sink faucet with a new drain, (boy was it a pain to get the old one out!!!!) a new toilette, light fixture and I have painted. I have also learned that I would NEVER choose to be a plumber!!!! I don't think that my back and neck will ever be the same again. Oh well, at least I am learning. My Father and Shad have been indispensable sources of information. (and occasional muscle) Hopefully I will be finished by the end of next week and I can post some pictures. At the moment I am at a standstill because I naively thought I could put up new trim in a day, in a little tiny bathroom with odd angles, with relative ease. See, I told you I was learning. NOTHING ever gets put together, or goes up anywhere, with relative ease!!!! I HATE TRIM!!!!
We went to the Everett AquaSocks game last night and had a wonderful evening followed by a great fireworks show. It was a good game. I LOVE summer outside baseball games. We had GREAT seats, the kids had way to many snacks and everyone had fun.
We are getting ready for my mother in laws visit from Colorado at the end of the month. The kids are crossing each day off of the calender in anticipation. We can't wait to see Grandma!!!
Oh, here is a funny from T yesterday... Did you know that the President rides in a LIMBO???? hahaha, I didn't even correct him, it was too cute.
My poor poor sleep apnea Hubby, who has been on a z-pap machine for the last several months, has finally given up the fight. It simply is not working. He is still snoring even WITH a full face mask on with twenty pounds of air pressure being forced down his throat. That is NOT suppose to even be able to happen. They now want to do surgery on him. They want to take his gigantic tonsils out along with his uvula (the dingle ball hanging down in the back of your throat) and scrape out the soft pallet part of his throat. I cant imagine what kind of sore throat that will cause!!!!! He has not decided whenever or not to do it yet but he is going to meet with the surgeon next month to discuss it. Poor hubby, I AM SO SORRY!!!!!
I have been back on Methotrexate for a month now and I am beginning to lose my hair again. I am trying to be positive but it's hard. I really didn't want to go through this again. I am still hoping that it will slow down (it seems to be slower this time) and I wont lose so much that I have to go back to wearing a wig again. For now I am trying to ignore it and I am wearing a lot of ponytails.
Well there is our little update. Off to bed I go!
