Boy's Bedroom Make Over

When my sister was here a few months ago we painted my children's bedroom. Then we started decorating, which is always the fun part. We just bought big white wooden letters to put the "captains" names up over their beds. (my project for this weekend) It's a work in process but I knew my sister Leslie would want to see how it was coming along! Thanks for your help! Now we are looking for some old maps to cover over their existing toy box. T also talked me into going to the marine outfitters store so that he could buy.. (well heck, I don't know what it's called) it's the metal part on your boat that you tie the ropes too. He is going to use it to tie up his window shade. They have really gotten into this (they are currently trying to find a life preserver) and I am willing to bet that in six months when all the "decorating" is over, that it will be really cool! It's so fun to be a kid!

2007 Little Leauge Baseball T-Ball and Minors

They are finally here, my sons "official" 2007 Baseball pictures. You will notice that I blocked out their league logos. What did you expect? I am a conscientious mother who practices online safety!!! They are so proud of their pictures. I hope it gives them fond memories in years to come.

I Have Been Playing In The Cosmos!

Here are a few pictures that I took yesterday. I can not believe how the weather has changed today though. It is pouring down rain and the clear blue sky seems like an impossibility! And I have a question. What's up with everyone "emailing" me now instead of "commenting" on the posts? My inbox is stuffed but there are noooo comments! ::laughing:: Is there some kind of commenting paranoia going around? I am just kidding, keep on a emailing... It's all good.
OH!!!! And I just got the boys baseball pictures
back! I will upload them tomorrow!

An Awsome Weekend!

I was given a great gift from my husband this week-end. I did not have to attend the marathon baseball event Saturday in which both of my sons had games. I was given the day off. I was told to "Go, Plant flowers! Relax! Enjoy the sun!" Man oh man, I didn't have to be told twice! I planted star jasmine, clematis, hydrangeas, honey suckle and a bunch of perennials that I have no idea what the names where but they sure were pretty! I am sore and beat and spent all day Sunday in my PJ’s in blissful laziness. I love spring! I was also given wonderful gift's made by my children at school for Mother's Day. I received a wonderful laminated poem from B all about me. T gave me a lovely book with his hand print and why I was special to him along with tea and a hand painted garden trowel. They are getting much fancier and creative then the items I remember making when I was in school! My hubby also gave me a wonderful card (a mooshy one at that!) but the best gift was Shad's hand written "The Ten Things I Love Most About My Wife." I admit it, I cried. T was sitting over my shoulder, looked at me, saw my tears and in a matter of three seconds his eyes teared up, his chin was quivering and he said "Mommy! Why are we crying?" I explained that I had happy tears and that it was OK. He just asked again "I know but why are we crying?!" Poor thing, I had to give him a big hug and tell him that I was OK, and that everything was perfect. I LOVE that he didn't ask me why I was crying, he asked me why WE were crying! Thank you, all three of my little men, for taking the time to make me feel appreciated and loved.

Pretty In Blue

Here is a bright little bit of spring for you! The kids and I have the sweet peas, pole beans, and peas planted and they are just beginning to sprout out of the ground. We even planted a whole planter of Johnny Jump Ups so that we can have edible "flower" salads this summer. I simply love this time of year. I wish my body could handle as much gardening as I would LIKE to do but it's a start anyway. The sun is shinning, the birds are scattering seeds all over my back deck and I hear the kids laughing in the front yard. It's a good day. Funny how a day of sun after several days of rain ALWAYS seems like a GOOD day!

A Long Path to an Old Book

You just have to love technology.

I have a couple of books from my childhood that for some reason or another have stuck in my little beanie brain. I have spent countless hours pouring over the children's section shelves at numerous library's with my children hoping to stumble across them. ( I actually found the old hardbound red copy of "The Boxcar Children" a few months ago and my children loved it and have been collecting the series every since.) Anyway, back to the point: The difficult part was that I could not remember the exact title or the authors name. Low and behold our public library system has an interactive search engine that allows you to put in key words, phrases, story lines etc and you can continue to narrow your searches from there. Well I have finally located three books that I can remember reading as a child (and enjoying) that I have been searching for (off and on) for more than fifteen years. FIFTEEN YEARS! Crazy isn't it. I am delighted that I can now share with my own children these beloved stories. All three of them are ready to be picked up from the library tomorrow. I AM SO EXCITED!!!!

All of a Kind Family - Sydney Taylor
The Wonderful Flight to the Mushroom Planet - Eleanor Cameron
Stowaway to the Mushroom Planet - Eleanor Cameron

Please; if you have a favorite or beloved childhood book send me the title and author. I am always searching for that next great children's book or even just a quirky one.
